Silva RACE PLATE ZOOM COMPASS MS

The SILVA Race Plate Zoom a competition compass with a large magnifying lens. Perfect for the orienteer or whoever needs a compass with outstanding quality, needle settling time and stability during running.

The baseplate is significantly smaller to fit better in the hand, and has a smaller capsule which significantly reduces the risk of bubbles*.

The stencil holes have been put in a separate “scale and stencil hole” plastic card that comes together with the compass.

The fast and stable SILVA Jet needle has been made smaller to increase your view of the map.  The rubber feet beneath the compass allow better map contact and minimum risk of slipping.

This compass is perfect for the orienteer or whoever is in need of a compass with outstanding quality, a large magnifier, fast needle settling time and stability during running.

*Please note that this compass can be prone to formation of a small bubble when subjected to cold temperatures or at higher altitudes such as in transit.   A small bubble does not affect the accuracy of the compass and should dissipate when warmed.  A bubble larger than 6mm may affect the functioning of the compass and could indicate a leak in the capsule.

Please note that prior to dispatch we check that:

• the compass does not have a bubble
• the needle is moving freely
• the needle is pointing north

A small bubble may form or the needle may get stuck whilst in transit, and the needle can reverse polarity if subjected to a magnetic field such as generated by phones and other electronic devices.  If your compass experiences any of these issues, please contact us before returning it.
